Mauri Connors and Matthew Young present a concert of original dance and music at Walltown Children’s Theatre in Durham, NC on April 4 and 5 at 7:30 PM. Connors and Young have been presenting improvised duets since 2022. This concert will feature their solo and duet work, with original music by Daniel Levin and Young; a collaborative trio with dance artist and improviser Ray Schwartz; and new choreography by Connors, with improvised music by Poah West and performances by Brooks Emanuel, Xueyan Han, Erica Janko, Davian Robinson and Alexa Vélez.
Expect intimate partnering sequences in unusual configurations and a unique movement vocabulary throughout the concert.
Tickets can be purchased in advance via PayPal or Venmo by following the directions below. A limited number of tickets will also be available at the door each night (Venmo only). Tickets are $15-20 sliding scale. Please choose to support the concert at the level you are able. Proceeds from ticket sales will cover the fixed costs of putting on the performance (renting the space, insurance, costumes, etc.) and anything after those costs will be distributed amongst the artists.
To purchase a ticket in advance:
1. Fill out the Google Form. Once you have submitted the Google Form, send your payment by PayPal or Venmo.
2. Pay for your ticket at a rate that works for you, $15-$20 sliding scale. Please support the performance at the highest rate you are able.
3. You will receive an email from Mauri confirming that we have received your payment and that your ticket is reserved. If you reserved a ticket prior to March 29 and do not receive confirmation by March 30, please reach out to me. If you reserve a ticket after March 29, you will receive confirmation by April 3.
